Founder: Natasha Lameris Martin

Founder: Natasha MartinMs. Martin has 20 years of scientific research experience in the areas of genetics, endocrinology, and immunology, as well as extensive experience in interdisciplinary project management in HIV-related clinical research. Her experience in pediatric AIDS Research dates back to the earliest days of the epidemic, as she pioneered some of the earliest laboratory methods that were used for the discovery of HIV/AIDS in infants and children. She has also contributed directly to the education of physicians, scientists, laboratory personnel, and health care workers in the Caribbean, Africa, and South America.

Today, as founder of G.R.A.C.E., Ms. Martin is engaged in community-owned programs that use education as a tool for transformation of grassroots community-based organizations recognizing that local people best know how to identify and solve local problems.

A native of Barbados, Ms. Martin was trained in immunology in England and the U.S. She has served as a managing consultant to the Pediatric AIDS Foundation for research project management, and served for 10 years as director of the Pediatric Clinical Research Center Core Laboratory at the University of California in San Francisco.
